The Opportunity for Schools to Innovate
- STEM jobs are projected to grow 11% nationwide between 2023-2033, nearly three times faster than other fields and paying a median wage above $100K.
- Aerospace products have remained Georgia's #1 export since 2004, topping $9 billion in 2021 with 800+ companies statewide.
- Despite being home to the world’s busiest airport (Atlanta) the local K-12 school systems currently offer very few aviation pathways. However, five area campuses earned Cognia STEM Certification in 2024, signaling strong potential for aerospace and STEM integration.
- Title I schools can leverage drones to boost student engagement, improve attendance, and provide hands-on learning opportunities in under-resourced classrooms.
